On Sunday Josh's parents invited us to a fireside in their ward. The speaker was Dean Busby a professor at BYU. It was a very interesting look a working through problems in marriage. He started by talking about bids. A bid is a contact you make with your spouse throughout the day. He talked about how important it is to respond to bids. Women of course are a bit better at it then men. (He told us about how men are just wired poorly for this relationship stuff.) Then he talked about how most problems in marriage come from how you deal with problems.
The best thing that he said (at least for me) was that 70% of problems in marriage are unsolvable problems. And the best thing to do is just realize that they aren't going away and learn to laugh about it. "Here we go again." I think both my dad and Josh can vouch for one of my unsolvable problems, my clothes on the floor. Just one of those things that no matter who says it, or how many times they do, my clothes are still on my floor. It is funny to think that 70% of things just aren't going away. That might put some perspective on things.
He also touched on some problems that are ruining marriage in this country. Some of them being voyeurism and exhibitionism. (Another reason that Dr Phil is of the devil.) This really made me think about the thinks we are talking about and watching on TV. Personal stuff should be just that, personal.
It was very nice to get a few reminders on the importance of marriage and how to have a happy one. (Love you baby!)

So - you're telling me that Tim's clothes are going to be on the floor forever? :/ Eeekk!
And I agree that personal things should be personal. Amen.
